Lyocell Biodegradable Nonwoven Fabric
Lyocell nonwoven fabric is a biodegradable material made from regenerated cellulose fibers derived from plant-based resources. Some Lyocell fibers are commercially known under brands such as TENCEL™.
Combining characteristics of natural and synthetic fibers, Lyocell provides a balance of softness, strength, moisture management, and breathability. Its raw material is cellulose obtained from renewable plant resources.
Lyocell nonwoven fabrics can be produced using renewable wood pulp and other cellulose-based materials. The closed-loop solvent recovery process used in Lyocell production supports efficient resource utilization and more sustainable material development.
Lyocell-based nonwoven fabrics offer a soft hand feel, good tensile strength, dimensional stability, moisture permeability, and air permeability. When blended with wood pulp fibers, the material can provide good fiber dispersion and balanced performance.
